Actress Nikitha has been banned by the Kannada Film Association for a period of three years based on the complaint given by Director Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi. Darshan was arrested two days ago after his wife complained to the police that he was physically abusing her. The ban has sent shock waves across the Industry and many actresses have termed the ban ‘unprofessional’.
However, the Kannada Film Producers Association has defended the ban. “It’s a lesson for other artistes,” KFPA president Munirathnam said. “We want them to be more professional and concentrate only on their jobs.” He said the three-year ban on Nikitha had been taken keeping in mind the future of the industry.”
Actress Nikitha was quick to condemn the ban from Mumbai. She called the ban ridiculous “Without consulting me, the KFPA has slapped the ban. Darshan and I have acted in three movies. There’s nothing between us beyond professional relationship.I’ve been flooded with calls for the last three days and I am going mad. I’m single and yet to get married. Has anyone thought of my future? Is it right to tarnish a girl’s image? If Darshan has a problem with his wife, why should I be dragged into it?”
Nikitha lost her father just a few days ago and this comes as even more bad news for her at a tough time.
