Most Expensive Bollywood Costumes...!!!
Shahrukh's superhero suit in Ra.1 has supposedly costs a Million Dollars - that's 4.5 Crore Rupees per costume, and there are 20 such costumes in the film!
While nothing can match that figure, let's take a look at some of the super expensive costumes in Bolly-dom!
1. Kareena Kapoor in Kambakkht Ishq
As Kareena Kapoor reveals that her dress in Kambakht Ishq had been brought from Paris and its price was Rs.8 Million
2. Madhuri Dixit in Devdas
Each of Madhuri Dixit's attires in Devdas cost roughly Rs.15 Lakhs.
3. Mallika Sherawat's Diamond Dress
Mallika Sherawat came under some criticism for her diamond-studded 'dress' at a social event.
4. Sherlyn's Diamond Bikini
Sherlyn Chopra appeared in a diamond studded bikini for a video.
5. Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan in Jodhaa Akbar
Neeta Lulla's designer costumes donned by Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan in Jodhaa Akbar were studded with diamonds, kundan and other precious and semi-precious stones. Each of Ash's costumes cost roughly Rs.2 Lakhs.
6. Vivek Oberoi in Prince
Narendra Kumar Ahmed, designer cum stylist for the Vivek Oberoi starrer Prince, says that the leather biker suit that Oberoi wears for most of the movie was one of the most expensive costumes. 'Each suit cost us approximately Rs.30,000 and we had at least six of them made.
7. Salman Khan in Veer
Salman Khan had six specially designed armours for him for his period film Veer - each costing a whopping Rs. 20 Lakh.

Kareena Kapoor to take over Aishwarya Rai's Heroine
The film was shelved after 10 days of shooting with Rai due to the sudden announcement of her pregnancy.
However, Kareena Kapoor recently confirmed, that she has taken over the main role due to the unavailability of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Rajnesh Domalpalli’s Vanaja screened at Locarno Film Festival
An independent Telugu feature film, Vanaja was screened at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on Saturday. It was the only Telugu film which was screened in the ‘Open Doors’ section where other award winning films like Kanasemba Kudureyaneri, Shyam Benegal’s Manthan, Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Nizhalkkuthu and Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa were screened to an international audience.
Directed by Rajnesh Domalpalli, Vanaja is set in rural Andhra Pradesh in the 1960s. “The film explores the chasm that divides classes as a young girl struggles to come of age,” Rajnesh told IANS. Mamatha Bhukya played the lead role as Vanaja who joins a local landlady’s household to learn Kuchipudi; however her dreams are left unfulfilled after the arrival of landlady’s son who impregnates her. The film was first screened at Toranto Film Festival and then it won the Best Debut Film award at Berlin Film Festival in 2007.
When it released in US, the film impressed the top critics so much that Pulitzer Prize winning film critic, Roger Ebert named the film as one of the best films he had seen in that year. The film was also released in South Africa; however it hasn’t found any takers in Andhra Pradesh. Rajnesh Domlpalli is now planning to release the film soon in India too.
