Chiru reveals the secret behind his name

Chiru was speaking to channel yesterday said ' It was 1978, My first film Punadhi Rallu released. When I saw my name Siva Shankara Prasad on screen, I felt odd with that lengthy name'. One day, I had a dream-In that dream , I was offering prayers to lord in a temple, a friend from out side the temple was calling me as Chiranjeevi raaa. Immediately I asked him whom you are calling, he replied as 'you'.; till that time, I don't know that there is name called Chiranjeevi.'

Chiru further adds ' I explained everything about my dream to my mother, She said that she is the devotee of Anjaneya Swami and Chiranjeevi is the other name for the Lord, and asked me to think about the Chiranjeevi name for screen name in the films'.

One day, in a interview with media, they have asked my name and I replied it as 'Chiranjeevi'. In that way, still I feel Lord Hanuman was the friend who called me Chiranjeevi in my dream'.

CHIRU's unfinished business

Santhi Nivas is the film of Chiru and it was shot in 1979.UV Babu was the director. Bhaskar Naidu who hails from Nellore was the producer for the film. He was the close friend of Chiru's father Konidela Venkat Rao.He is the guy who helped Chiru to join Madras Film institute.

Chiru was taken as villain in the film and Madhavi was roped opposite Chiru in this film.

Story--Chiru and Madhavi are wife and husband in the film.Chiru troubles Madhavi in the film for money. Finally Madhavi chooses flush business in the film. After seeing this, Chiru changes his character...The film's shoot was completed after taking long time. In 1984 songs LP record was released.

The prints were placed in Saradha labs ,Chennai and the prints were shifted to Vijaya Lab from Sharadha lab. The prints were misplaced while shifting and they couldn't find the prints of Shanthi Nivas.The film couldn't be released there after.

Another important point in this film is- Dilip-was introduced as Mixing assistant and he is today's A R Rahman

Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruthi Haasan will play a lead role in a remake of her father’s yester-year blockbuster film ‘Yerra Gulabilu’.

The original movie ‘Yerra Gulabilu’ was directed by veteran filmmaker Bharathi Raja and now, the remake version will be handled by his son Manoj.

And now, the latest buzz is that director Manoj has requested Kamal Haasan to sing a song in the film. And he also made a request to Sridevi through his father to play a special role in the movie. However, she is yet to finalize her decision. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the music for this new version.

Why do heroines hate Allu Arjun ???

Just have a glance at debutant heroines of allu arjun from his first flick ‘Gangotri’ which has Aditi Agarwal; secondly ‘Arya’ with Anuradha Mehta; third ‘Bunny’ with Gouri Munjal and lastly ‘Varudu’ with Bhansu Sri Mehra.

Among the entire list, all those heroines who were introduced to Tollywood besides allu arjun haven’t been able to make their ground in industry and left the way in between. So, many in the industry consider allu arjun as unlucky mascot for heroines and is especially hated by debutants.

Daggubati Rana, who is making his Bollywood debut with Dum Maro Dum finds a tutor in Bipasha Basu, his co star in this film. As Rana’s Hindi is not well versed, Bipasha stepped into his rescue and has been trying to get his Hindi right.

However, Bipasha is not fluent with the language too. But as she has immense experience in Hindi cinema, she is helping out her co star.

‘He picked up the language quicker than I assumed. Of course he will get doubts about some words. If he asks for any particular word from now, I will charge a fee’ Bipasha laughed.

PRINCE movie REVIEW ... Vivek Oberoi failed once again

Vivek Oberoi’s dreams to make it big as a solo hero shattered with his Prince biting dust at the box office. The film, which is touted to be one of the biggest budget films of the season, was released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi simultaneously. But the first day reports and reviews proved that this film will end as a damp squib at the box office.

Age old plot, foolish scenes, silly treatment marred the chances of Prince and sadly Vivek will have to shift his hopes on to his upcoming film Rakta Charitra.
Excessive skin show by the lead ladies in Prince too didn’t attract many as the openings were very little all over India. The film is an instant flop in overseas too. Bad luck, Vivek!

SINDHU MENON .. TOLLY 2 HOLLY

Actress Sindhu Menon, who has marked her place in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, is now on a trip to conquer Hollywood, the actress has not one but tow projects at a time. When contacted, Sindhu accepted that she has two English projects in the pipeline and will be seeing herself on Hollywood silver screen by early next year.

Sindhu Menon will be acting in her first English film, which is being directed by Brad peter. This international project is already on floors and sindhu was busy shuttling between UK, US and India last month. This movie is yet to be titled and sindhu plays the character of an Indian woman, who falls for an English guy.

The second project of Sindhu will start from July and will be on floors from October this year. This movie demands sindhu as a chubby girl and so, sindhu is busy putting on weight these days.

Sindhu has also clarified that she will not neglect Indian films and will also do them simultaneously.

ALLU ARJUN at ARYA new film Madrasapattinam audio function

Madrasapattinam is a forthcoming Indian Tamil film that stars Arya and Amy Jackson in the lead roles, whilst, actors Nasser and Cochin Hanifa play other prominent roles.  Directed by A. L. Vijay, who earlier directed hits like Kireedam (2007) and Poi Solla Porom (2008), the film is currently in its filming stage and is expected to release in 2010.
