With Nithya in his kitty, it is Advantage Nani...!!!

After much shilly-shallying, the makers of Gautham Menon's tri-lingual romantic caper have announced the name of male lead in Telugu.  The position remained vacant for good two weeks after Ram opted out of the project citing the likelihood of its shoot taking plenty time because it is being simultaneously made in three languages.

The result is that it has become Nani's advantage.  The actor has been signed to be hero in the Telugu version, titled Nithya.  Samantha is the female lead.

The producers kept all this under the wraps until the deal was finalised.  Produced by RS Infotech, the film has music by AR Rehman.

Gautham Menon is understandably satisfied with the way Nani carried himself in Veppam (dubbed in Telugu as Sega).  Ala Modalaindi proved that the stubble-faced actor can be at ease with romantic movies.  It is hoped that Nithya will consolidate his position in the industry.

The true colors of Tollywood’s heroines...!!!

We are of course talking about our heroines from Chennai, Goa, Punjab and Mumbai, or for that matter from any other part of the Country other than Andhra. The fact is not even a single one of them is a member of the industry’s Movie Artistes Association (MAA). The membership costs a paltry (by their standard) Rs. 1 lac. None of them – Trisha, Genelia, Anushka, Tamannah, Taapsee, Nithya Menon, Samantha, Kajal – have bothered to enrol in the Industry’s premier body.

In direct contrast almost all of them have become members of Kollywood’s Nadigar Sangam. The membership is not a simple nominal issue. It has commercial implications for the producers too. Those producers that sign up the above mentioned heroines, cannot approach MAA to take any action on them in case they have disputes regarding remuneration, shooting schedules etc. This is the concern that MAA in turn has communicated to the producers and has told them in no uncertain terms that they have to take note of this issue while signing up these actresses for their movies.

Some of them though have responded. Actress like Trisha and Genelia who have even won Nandi awards are saying that they will soon complete the enrolment formalities.

Nitin’s Ishq in last stages of filming...!!!

Nitin’s upcoming film Ishq is in its last stages of filming. So far, 80% of the film has been completed. Except for three songs, a chase sequence and the climax, the rest of the film has been shot. Two of these songs will be shot in foreign countries and the third song will be shot in Delhi. The final schedule of the film will begin from September 1 in Hyderabad. Vikram Kumar is directing the film. M Vikram Goud is producing the film on Shresta Media Pvt. Ltd and Multidimension Entertainments banner is going to present it.

Acclaimed cinematographer P C Sriram is the lensman and Sreekar Prasad is the editor. Aravind Shankar is composing the music. The film’s touted to be a romantic entertainer and Vikram Kumar is confident that it’ll be one of the best films in Nitin’s career.
