Sania's show to end after Marriage !!

India's most successful female tennis player Sania Mirza revealed that she will hang up her racquet after getting married.

Sania, who got engaged to childhood friend Sohrab Mirza in July 2009, did not elaborate when she plans to marry but said she will bid adieu to the game after tying the knot.

"As of now, I don't intend to play professionally after marriage but that is still some time away," Sania said.
Before getting engaged to the Indian tennis diva, Sohrab had said that Sania will have complete freedom to make her career decisions.

'She has my complete support and backing in whatever she wishes. It is completely her decision for how long she wishes to play,' Sohrab had said in June. So, when asked if it was purely her decision to quit the game after marriage, Sania's father Imran Mirza replied, "It's her decision for now. If later she decides to play after marriage, it's her choice."

Reviews

Sambho Shiva Sambho is not a typical Ravi Teja film. In fact it is not even a typical Telugu film. The hero does not get his girl. He risks his everything for his friend’s love marriage which ends in a divorce even before the proverbial song and dance sequence ends. And by the time the audience walks out of the theater they are as confused as the hero.

What is it about

The film is about Karna (Ravi Teja) an unemployed youngster who values friendship and honesty above everything else in his life. His friends Malli and Seenu are the usual lot many of us can identify with. Malli – a role essayed by Allari Naresh – wears his heart on his sleeve and is especially endearing. Into their lives walks Santosh (the son of a MLA) who falls in love with a factionist’s daughter Priya. Karna, Malli and Seenu join hands to unite Santosh and Priya. In the process they also take the help of local Naanni (Sunil). In the process their lives get shattered. In the fights that ensue, Malli becomes deaf, Seenu loses his leg. And Karna’s maamayya (Thanikella Bharani) refuses the hand of his daughter to Karna because of him getting involved in a police case. In between all this they get the news that Santosh and Priya have separated because they get “bored” of each other. Karna gets angry because he feels that too much has been sacrificed for the sake of Santosh. So he wants to teach him a lesson. How Karna and Malli manage to do that is the story of the rest of the film.

What is Good

The realism in the film is excellent In fact it is way too intense so as to cause a measure of discomfort. The scenes where Karna and his friends run off with Priya from the warlord’s den in Kurnool are shot with authenticity. The blood and gore can make you wince. Also the scene where Karna’s maradalu (Priyamani) tries to fight for the love of her man with her father (Thanikella Bharani) is intense and so very real. The dialogues between the friends and their interplay with their families is easily identifiable. The director manages to get middle class authenticity into the screen in a manner not seen for a long time in the Telugu screen. Cinematography is sharp and detailed. The film in the first half manages to sustain the viewer’s interest.

What is bad

In the second half the film sinks under a tidal wave of emotion. The whole atmosphere of the film gets noisy. Telugu audiences are not used to this level of emotional heaviness especially when the film has Ravi Teja in it. Fans who expect the usual dose of slap stick humor, punch dialogues and racy songs – the staple diet in Ravi a Teja film - will be disappointed. Sunil’s comedy is a let-down. The songs and dance have a distinct “tamil” flavor in them. Priyamani looks like a ragged doll. I don’t recollect the last time a Telugu heroine was presented with such a heavy foundation make up throughout the film. The characters of Roja (Santosh’s mother) and Mukesh Rishi (Priya’s father) are wasted. But the biggest conflict is with the message in itself. On the one hand the director seems to be telling that one should not rush headlong into love marriages. On the other hand his Karna’s character seems to be ready to help another set of lovers get united. And to add to the confusion, Karna himself seems to accept that his love is doomed.

Bottom Line

Watch it if you are a hard core Ravi Teja fan. And even then prepare to see him like you have never seen him before. He is totally deglamorised – sad really considering the fact that he looks fit as a fiddle. In this packed Sankranthi schedule, Sambho Siva Sambho seems to have dropped out of the race, which in all likelihood will be between Adhurs and Namom Venkatesa. That I guess speaks about the status of this film.

verdict: jus an ave flick

Namo Venkatesa Movie Review

[namo13.jpg]

Movie : Namo Venkatesa
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Venkatesh,Trisha ,Brahmanandam,Dharmavarapu, Kasi Viswanath, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Mukesh Rishi, Subba Raju,Prithvi, Master Bharat, Surekha Vani, Telangana Sakunthala

Directed by : Sreenu Vaitla
Produced by : Achanta Ram
Banner : 14 Reels Entertainment, Suresh Productions
Music : Devi Sri Prasad
Release Date : 2010-01-14

Story:

Venkatesh and Sreenu Vaitla use the same formula to churn laughs. The director uses faction plot, romance, and Brahmanandam/Jayaprakash Reddy/Bharat to keep the story moving and garnishes it with plenty of songs.Instead of being content doing romance and fights, Venky wears his comedy coat and with Brahmanandam in the role of Paris Prasad on his side pull off a lengthy drama that ends predictably.

Venky plays the role of a Venkatramana a ventriloquist by profession ,who's not married yet as his dream girl hasn't yet arrived. When she does, he is made to believe by her uncle that she is in love with him .The heroine is in love with Aakash but like in all films when they are about to get married, the hero attempts a sacrificial act and there is a change of heart in the heroine. To lengthen the drama, and to make it colourful, a faction background is added.
This is not a brilliant or a novel movie but the strength lies in blending the humour into a faction narrative. Also it does not get onto the nerves of the audiences, with a good technical execution, picturesque locations and some sentiment towards the end that all good men are rewarded the film becomes complete.

Trisha this time doesn't get much to do.Venkatesh and Brahmanandam performance is not upto the mark.Jayaprakash Reddy's did his job as far as his role is concerned. The script and screenplay comes to be a routine one and Vaitla tried to keep his audiences entertained with a bit of comedy as well as drama.Venkatesh's humour, average performances by the rest and on whole, the movie turned out to be an average one.

Plus Points:

Venkatesh dance for songs ‘Mr Perfect’ and ‘Ringa Ringa’

Minus Points:

Routine comedy
Music

Analysis:

There is nothing new about the story but could have done well with better screenplay  Master Bharat ,Surekha vani and Jayaprakash Reddy of Srinu Vytla team were not utilised to optimum. Brahmanandam does a good job as he brings out laughter in some instances and also covers up the pale performance of remaining cast. The Movie is not upto the mark and cannot be compared to Srinu Vytla's previous movies 'Dhee' and 'Ready'.Music could be much better.

Verdict : Just an Average Movie

Review

Story
A tale of different people, the story is about different characters- Meghana (Kajal) believes in doing everything differently, she always wants variety and the only person who can give her the correct direction in this is RJ Maddy (madhavan), there is Anand (navadeep) who has been trying hard to get married and finally he meets the girl of his dreams Anjali (aditi). Then there is Noori (bindu) whose wedding gets fixed with an army officer and she is waiting for him. But then, there is Noori's brother Baba who is a bomb expert. He gets an assignment from terrorists to make bombs that will blow up Hyderabad. Also, there is Teja (nikhil) whose only aim in life is to become like hero Ravi Teja. All of them have their own stories but at one point their paths cross each other. How does that happen and what are the changes they see in their life forms the rest of the story.

Presentation
The director has come up with a good thought but then he failed to conceive it on the screen in the right manner. The presentation was okay but the narrative was haphazard. The dialogues were good at places, the script was weak and the screenplay was erratic. Background score was a letdown and not much in songs either. Cinematography was good at few places. Editing was okay. Costumes were good, art department was nice. Navadeep did justice to his role, Kajal Agarwal was alright, she looked sexy in one song, Aditi Sharma was neat, Nikhil was vibrant as usual, Bindu Madhavi was brief, Madhavan was a surprise package, he looked good, Murali Mohan was brief, Sunil managed few smiles, Pragathi was regular, the others didn't have much to offer.

Conclusion
Getting too many characters and that too with different backdrops tends to create a discontinuity. The concentration of the audience is diverted and they wont be able to connect the with the story at any point. While the first half goes about with the introduction of the characters and their stories, the second half shows the twists in their lives. The climax was disappointing and confusing. Overall, the film was good in technical values but execution of the plot was very poor. The film will need strong publicity if it has to click at the box office.

verdict: Good thought, poor execution

Adurs Movie Review

Movie : Adurs
Rating: 3.75/5
Cast : Jr NTR, Nayantara, Sheela, MS Narayana, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bhrani, Raghu Babu and others.

Directed by : VV Vinayak
Produced by : Vamsi Mohan
Banner : Vaishnavi Arts
Music : Devi Sri Prasad
Release Date : 2010-01-13

Story:

Jr. NTR plays a dual role in the film that of a Brahmin Chari and another as Narasimha, a daredevil young man who is interested in becoming a police officer. Narasimha works for a top cop Sayaji Shinde and helps him in eliminating gangsters in the city.

Chari is a disciple of Bhattu (Brahmanandam). They both make a living by performing pujas and other religious ceremonies. Bhattu is almost 50 years old but he fancies himself as a young man and he runs after the young and beautiful Chandu (Nayanatara). He wants to marry Chandu and so requests Chari to help him in the matter.
However Chandu has other ideas. She falls in love with Chari and asks him to marry him. Bhattu is angry and he wants to take revenge on Chanri for backstabbing him in the love matter.Narasimha and Chari are separated at birth but meet later in Calcutta. The evil gangster Baba (Mahesh Manjrekar) promises the army Major Nazar that he will unite him with his family as soon as he completes his mission of developing the missile.Sayaji Shinde's daughter Indu (Sheela) is in love with Narasimha. Baba brings Narasimha to Calcutta to show Nazar that has family is safe. Bhattu who wants to take revenge on Chari plans to eliminate him after he is taken to Calcutta by the gangsters.

The rest of the film is about confused identities and the fight of Narasimha to save his father from the faraway island. The climax is not much impressive.

Performances:

Jr. NTR lives up to the expectations of his fans with superb dances, fights and acting skills. He is good in both the roles.NTR comesup with a wonderful and humourous character in chari role for the first time and succeeded in bringing laughs in theatres.

Brahmanadam appears in a very meaty role and hogs the screen presence almost on par with Jr. NTR. He manages to tickle the funky bone. He gets good support from Jr. NTR, MS Narayana, Mahesh Manjrekar and others.

Nayanatara is hot and Sheela is hotter. The two heroines between themselves fill in the glamour department perfectly.

Plus Points:

NTR Comedy (Chari Character)
NTR dance
Brahmanandam hilarious performance.

Minus Points:

Climax

Analysis:

NTR (Chari character) and Bramanandam entertain us in first half of the movie. The second half of the movie is not constructed well. The three serious villains (Sayaji Shinde, Asish Vidyardhi & Mahesh Manjrekar) of the movie conspire in the second half only to transform themseleves into comedy villains. The climax should have been better. Plus point of the movie is comedy by Chari character. On a whole, it's a treat for movie lovers as NTR appeared on screen after a very long gap.

Verdict:  A must watch film for NTR and Brahmanandam hilarious comedy.

YSR Death Conspiracy By Ambanis

Andhra Pardesh News - The Exiled reported that RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani is behind the chopper crash death of Andhra Pradesh CM YSR Reddy

YSR Murder Conspiracy

First, the crash: one of India’s most popular politicians, who heads the state of Andhra Pradesh, just died in a mysterious helicopter crash. What’s eerie is that the dead politician recently went public attacking India’s most powerful oligarch family, the Ambani's, threatening to take away their giant offshore gas concessions.

Meanwhile the Ambani brothers, Mukesh (the world’s 7th richest man) and Anil (the world’s 34 richest) are battling each other in a blood feud that’s taking the whole country down with them–that’s not a hornet’s nest you’d want to stick your fingers into, even if you’re the governor of a huge Indian province.

When it Started

The Ambani brothers’ feud peaked in May when Anil’s helicopter was found to have been sabotaged just before takeoff. Anil strongly hinted he suspected Mukesh, but no one will ever know who did it, because the mechanic who discovered the dirt and gravel in Anil Ambani’s helicopter gear box was hit by a train two days later in what was initially ruled as a “suicide,” but which later was ruled murder.

So why would an Ambani have anything to do with the mysterious helicopter crash of Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy? Just speculatin’ on a hypothesis, as the police chief says in Miller’s Crossing, and here’s why:

Just over a month ago, as the Ambani brothers’ insane internecine war over offshore gas deposits dragged on with no end in sight, Reddy publicly demanded that his state, Andhra Pradesh, take a share of the gas deposits for itself:

Even as the two Ambani brothers are locked in a legal battle over supply and price of gas from the Krishna-Godavari basin, the Andhra Pradesh government has sought its “due share” of the hydrocarbon asset.

Check Mate

He even attacked the brothers’ mother, who brokered the deal dividing up India’s gas between her feuding sons:

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said that the settlement of the gas dispute between the Ambani brothers could not be left to their mother Kokilaben and the Centre must play a decisive role, for which he has written to the Prime Minister.

The Nails on the Coffin

“The dispute over sharing of gas is not an issue to be settled by (the) mother (Kokilaben). It is for the government to decide who should get the gas and also at what price,” Reddy said on the sidelines of a function.

Situation Now

A number of Reliance Retail outlets in Andhra Pradesh today came under simultaneous mob attack after a news report on some Telugu channels alleged the role of the Ambani brothers in the sudden death of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash last year.

“It’s a master plan of ‘big hand’ to divert people’s attention with Telangana issue. I feel that. Praful Patel said that he will bring out report on YSR’s death in the last week of November. The culprits must have got alerted and diverted the issue encouraging Telangana turmoil in Nov-Dec 2009 by manipulating CBI. They thought public memory is short. But media is there to awaken every minute”.

Who Is Going to be The Sankranthi Winner?

We predicted that the January war was going to be one of the most exciting BO wars in recent times, It seems that with three big releases - Adurs, Namo Venkatesa and Shambo Shiva Shambo, releasing in two shakes of a lamb's tail come next week, the fight will begin.  Which one is going to emerge victorious.

If measured from the yardstick of pre-release hype, Adurs and Namo Venkatesa both stand good chance to get high openings.  There is no limit to what Adurs can earn in terms of first week collections obviously because it is planned for a big theatrical release, even in the overseas market.  On the other hand, Namo Venkatesa is sure to get the maximum openings for a Venky film because for his fans among the family audience, it is not only hugely awaited but also the hype that it is an all-out comedy is going to work to its immense advantage.

The names of  Vinayak and Sreenu Vaitla associated with these films is only going to benefit them the most.  Also the entertainment-starved audience are sure to lap them up in a big way, whatever the talk they generate in the first week.  NTR has huge mass appeal, while Venky's 15-year old stardom is no less important.  It will be a cut-throat competition between the two films.

Coming to Shambo Shiva Shambo, the Ravi Teja-starrer may not have generated the kind of hype it was expected to owing to the off colour look of the film, but it seems this story-based film is sure to unleash a surprise package.  Elements like sensitive emotions spun around the values of friendship and sacrifice may attract the film audience.

Let's see who emerges Number One among the three!
