Tagore to be remade in Hindi?

The latest buzz in tollywood is that Chiru's superhit Tagore, in which he plays a college professor who turns vigilante when he loses his family due to acts of corruption, might be remade in Bollywood.

And the director of the original, A R Murugadoss(Tamil version Ramana), is being approached by several leading B-Town heroes to reprise the lead role.

A source says, "Leading Hindi actors have watched the Telugu original and are keen to act in its remake. With the anti-corruption movement being discussed widely in the media these days, it's the ideal film to make." Sources state that if Murugadoss tweaks the script a bit to suit Bollywood sensibilities, it's sure to click with the audiences. "The subject of the film is a theme that appeals to every Indian and Murugadoss, who gave Aamir Khan a super role in the Hindi remake of Ghajini, should do justice to a Hindi version of Telugu as well." Meanwhile, we also hear that Santhosh Sivan will helm the camera for the director's next flick with Ilayathalapathy Vijay.

When TOI contacted A R Murugadoss, he said, "I'd like to remake Tagore in Hindi, but things have to fall in place. Post the release of 7am Arivu, I'll be doing a Tamil film with Vijay. A Hindi project with Akshay Kumar is also on the cards."
